The political transformation in the magazine „Kobieta i Życie” [„The Woman and Life”]

The period of the political transformation has aroused great interest in the press, including women’s press. The editorial staff of “Kobieta i Życie” [„The Woman and Life”] counted on activating women in the political sphere. The press commented on political changes, diagnosed reality and forecasted trends. The starting point of the consideration was that the women were underrepresented during the Round Table Talks. Attention was paid to the ironic approach to women’s movements in Poland. Due to the fact that women’s issues were not discussed at the Round Table, the editorial staff of “Kobieta i Życie” [”The Woman and Life”] organized a series of meetings and article „About us with us”, „If not us, then who?”, „They will not let you down” among others. The aim of the paper was to show the way of articulating women’s problems, the structure of issues addressed, as well as the mechanisms of promoting women figures involved in politics.
